Privacy policy
This explains what our apps and this website do with information about you. It is short, because the answer is mostly “nothing”.

The short version
We do not ask you to create an account. We do not place adverts. We do not measure what you tap. We do not build a profile of you, and we have nothing to sell to anybody who might want one.
Our apps run on your device and speak to the equipment in your own home. Almost nothing ever leaves it.
Who is responsible

What KlingKlang does with your information
KlingKlang controls Sonos speakers. To do that it looks for speakers on the network your device is connected to and sends them instructions such as “play”, “pause” or “turn down”. All of that happens inside your home. None of it reaches us.
The app keeps your settings — such as which rooms you last looked at and where your music folder is — on your own device. If you give it a user name and password for a shared music folder, those are handed to your Sonos system, which is what needs them to read the folder.
If you browse a streaming service inside the app, the app asks that service directly, in the same way the Sonos app does. Your login for that service is kept in your device’s own secure storage and is only ever sent back to the service that issued it. We never see it.
Updates come from the App Store or from Google Play, in the same way as every other app on your device. KlingKlang never contacts a server operated by us, because we do not run one. Features you choose to use — such as browsing or linking an online music service, playing internet radio, or obtaining Sonos service information — may communicate with Sonos or the relevant service provider. Those providers process information under their own privacy policies. KlingKlang includes no advertising, analytics or third-party tracking SDKs; we neither receive nor retain the data those providers process.
The app writes a diagnostic log on your own device to help work out what went wrong if something misbehaves. It stays on your device. It is never sent anywhere, and there is no crash reporting.
Retention, deletion and your choices
KlingKlang keeps its settings on your device until you change them or remove the app. The diagnostic log contains only the current app session and is replaced when the app starts again. Credentials or tokens for linked music services are stored in your device’s Keychain. You can delete them by unlinking the service in KlingKlang.
You can revoke KlingKlang’s local-network permission at any time in your device’s settings. Removing the app deletes its ordinary local settings and diagnostic files. Because we do not operate KlingKlang accounts or servers, we hold no corresponding account data to delete. You may still contact support@bosch.fyi with any privacy question or request.
Permissions the app asks for
Local network. Required. This is how the app finds your speakers. Without it the app sees nothing at all.
Accessibility, on the Mac, and only if you want the keyboard’s volume and playback keys to control your speakers. The app looks only at those keys, and only while it is the app you are using. Every other key you press is passed straight through untouched. Refuse the permission and everything else still works.
This website
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and embeds no trackers, advertising pixels or social media buttons.
Everything it needs, including its two typefaces, is served from this site itself. Your browser contacts no other company while you read these pages — no Google, no content network, nobody.
Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs, which include IP addresses, for a short period for security and troubleshooting. We do not use them to identify or follow anyone.
Children
Our apps are not aimed at children, but they are safe for them: there is no account, no chat, no adverts and no purchases or subscriptions inside the app. We knowingly collect nothing from anyone, whatever their age.
Your rights
Swiss and European data protection law gives you the right to ask what information an organisation holds about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its use.
In our case the answer will almost always be that we hold nothing, because we never collected it. You are welcome to ask anyway, at support@bosch.fyi, and we will answer honestly. If you are not satisfied you may complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, or to the supervisory authority where you live.
If this changes
If we ever change how our apps handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. We will not quietly start collecting things that this page says we do not.
