Nine times out of ten this is the local network permission. Your device asks for it the first time you open the app; without it the room list stays empty. On a Mac, look in System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Local Network and switch KlingKlang on. On an iPhone or iPad, look in Settings ▸ KlingKlang. Otherwise, check that your device is on the same network as the speakers — not the guest network, and not mobile data.

Check the folder address in Settings ▸ Music Library. It should look like //computer-name/folder. If the folder needs a user name and password, enter them there as well. After adding a folder, your Sonos system needs a few minutes to read through it — a large collection can take considerably longer the first time.

Pull down on the room list to look again. Rooms are named by the Sonos system itself, so if a name is wrong, rename the room in the Sonos app and it will follow in KlingKlang. Speakers that are part of a stereo pair or surround set appear as one room, which is correct.

KlingKlang plays the services your Sonos system already knows about. If a service is not listed, add it once in the Sonos app and it will appear. If it is listed but will not play, the subscription has usually expired or the sign-in has lapsed; the app tells you which.

The app follows your device’s own language setting. On an iPhone or iPad, look in Settings ▸ KlingKlang ▸ Language. On Android, App info ▸ Language. On a Mac, System Settings ▸ General ▸ Language & Region.

On a Mac, drag KlingKlang from your Applications folder to the Bin. On a phone or tablet, press and hold the icon and choose to remove it. That is all of it; there was never an account for you to close as well.

On macOS, open System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Screen & System Audio Recording and switch Sonoluma on, then reopen the app. Sonoluma uses only the audio from this permission, not screen images. You can also choose a wired or USB microphone from the Source menu.
